    Grants Reception

    Industry associates joined us to award funds to our 2018 grant recipients and to celebrate the industry's impact in the community.

    Each year IICF board members nominate charities in areas of education and social mobility to be our grant recipients. This year we were proud to award grants to eight charities to help over 500 people across the UK:

    Domestic Abuse in the Workplace

    12:00-14:30 on 2 November 2017

    Hosted by Advance, a grant recipient of IICF

    We go into work every day without knowing how to recognise employees who show signs of domestic abuse unless we are advised discreetly. This invaluable session explains what domestic abuse is and how it affects the workplace. It will also highlight how to proactively identify signs of abuse and how to act on it.


    Kavitha Ramakrishnan a Program Manager at Advance provided invaluable insight and advice on the following topics.

    1. What is domestic abuse?

    2. Domestic abuse and the workplace

    3. Legislation backing it up

    4. How to address it

    IICF Week of Giving

    14-21October 2017

    Employees across the industry volunteered as part of a company team or group from different companies, presenting a unique way to give back.


    Volunteers sorted clothing and prepared breakfast for Whitechapel Mission, helped in classes for homeless people at Providence Row, participated in early learning activities at Bromley-by-Bow Centre, led a careers workshop for students at The Girls Network and much more!



    If you missed Week of Giving, you can still make a difference! IICF aims to improve early literacy for the most vulnerable children ages five and under. Join IICF in raising funds to help give every young child the opportunity to learn, read and right by supporting the IICF Early Learning Initiative.     2017 Charity Quiz Night

    20 September 2017

    Over 100 people joined IICF to test their general knowledge, network with industry colleagues and raise valuable funds for charity.


    The raffle, with prizes including 2 tickets on the Eurostar, dinner for 2 and a Mulberry handbag, proved very popular and raised over £1000. In total, the night raised £4,000 for future IICF grants.

    An Evening of Inspiration and Networking

    The IICF and ABI hosted an event for young professionals to hear from a panel of industry leaders on critical issues for the next generation of leaders in Insurance and to network with industry peers. Speakers were:

    • Sabine VanderLinden, Managing Director, Startupbootcamp InsurTech
    • Adrian Matthews, Employee Benefits Director, UK, MetLife
    • Ola Jacob Raji, Associate, Alesco Risk Management and Executive Vice Chairman, Next Generation Insurance Network

    2nd Annual Charity Ball

    Over 200 people attended our 2nd Charity Ball at LSO St. Luke's in London. The evening celebrated the industry's impact in local communities and raised valuable funds for future grants to help vulnerable people realise their true potential.


    Guest speaker Dr. Michael Hastings CBE: Lord Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE described why literacy is important to us all, and Rob Forkan, Co-founder of Gandys Flip Flops and Ariyo-Julien Charles, an Ambassador for Key4Life, shared powerful stories about giving back. Click here to see photos.

    Charity Golf Tournament

    After a very successful day last year, we decided to make the golf tournament at Betchworth Park Golf Club an annual event. Twelve teams joined IICF for the tournament, won by KPMG, with Gen Re coming in second and XL Catlin in third. Click here to see photos.

    Associate Board Race Night

    22 March 2017

    Over 75 colleagues joined IICF for a fast-moving and interactive race night which raised over £4,000, which will allow IICF to help vulnerable people realise their true potential. Click here for photos.


    Grand Finale winner Julian Longbottom from XL Catlin remarked "Found a skill I never knew I had! Fantastic night hosted by IICF". 

    Leading Across Generations Conference

    IICF held a one-day conference to explore the topic of multigenerational talent, and how individual leaders as well as companies can adapt to the changing workplace to attract, retain and grow future talent in the insurance industry. Click here for photos.

    Bullseye! Fundraiser at Flight Club

    10 November 2016

    Over 50 people participated in an evening of darts at this popular venue. Generali won the tournament and, together, participants helped raise over £1500 for IICF grants programme
