The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation UK (IICF UK), a charity that aims to improve local communities through industry collaboration, today announced the appointment of three new members to the Board of Directors, bringing the total number to 18, as well as a new Board Chair.
The three new members are:
- Brendan McManus, CEO PIB Group
- Eileen Castolene, Senior Vice President and Director of Operations Europe
- Jolle Wever, Managing Director, Axco Insurance Information Services
These members include new representatives from firms who have supported the Foundation since it launched in the UK three years ago as well as firms that are new supporters.
The IICF is also pleased to announce the appointment of David Melvin, Head of Corporate Transformation Strategy, MS Amlin as the new Chair of the UK Board of Directors.
“Having served on the board for over a year, David has played a key role in providing strategic direction and governance for the charity. We look forward to continued success with David as our Chair and we are excited to have a growing Board that will allows us to strengthen our community impact” said Wendy Wilder, Director of IICF UK.
These appointments come in advance of the IICF’s Week of Giving, a unique event where thousands of industry employees come together to make a difference in the areas where we live and work. Running across the UK and United States, the Week of Giving returns on October 13th, empowering the insurance industry to take a leadership role in through a dedicated week of volunteer projects.
“We believe that the insurance industry can be a force for social good, and by uniting competitors in charitable activities, we can drive social change and create value for the industry. Through grants to social mobility charities, for instance, we’ve helped over 900 people across the country make a new start in life while creating access to more diverse talent in our communities.” explains David Melvin.
