IICF UK AMBASSADORS
Ambassadors are senior executives who work within or provide services to the insurance industry and who personally support IICF by providing strategic advice, sponsoring events and introducing IICF to their contacts to raise awareness of the foundation across all sectors of the industry.

Ben Firshein
LOCKTON Re
Ben has been involved with the IICF UK chapter since its formation in 2015.
Ben has worked at GenRe since 2007. He started in the New York City office and worked there until 2014, at which point Ben relocated to the London office.
Ben has broad experience in underwriting and marketing various casualty and specialty lines of business across both treaty and facultative reinsurance.

Christine Frendo
Baringa
Christine is a Director within Baringa’s Insurance team.
She has over 16 years experience in financial services and focuses on London Markets, Commercial and Specialty Insurance – working with clients to deliver strategic change programmes, embedding sustainable operating models and driving operational efficiency.

Heather Goodhew
Heather has had an extensive career as a senior executive in financial services with a long and successful track record in (re)insurance leadership roles.
Having held both Chief Underwriting Officer and Chief Operating Officer roles, Heather has significant experience of underwriting, strategy, business development and of leading through periods of organisational growth and change.
She was most recently Deputy Group COO of Aspen Insurance Holdings and while at Aspen was a member of Aspen’s UK charity committee. Heather is a trustee for Greater London Fund for the Blind and she is an accredited coach and mentor with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
Heather holds BA and MA degrees and her personal interests include theatre and travel.

Alex HEARN
SLIPCASE
Founder of slipcase.com; a team dedicated to expanding the reach of expertise in the (re)insurance industry to relevant audiences around the world.
With a background as a broker at Lloyd’s, Alex’s 10-year career is rooted in the London and International Markets. His areas of expertise include strategy, leadership, business development and relationship management.
Alex is delighted to join the IICF as an ambassador and is keen to help amplify the charity’s message through Slipcase as a digital partner.

Tangy Morgan
PRA, Bank of England
Tangy is currently a Senior Advisor to the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) where she advises the Senior Leadership of the PRA and wider Bank which includes Fintech/Insurtech.
Tangy has over 30 years of experience in the US, Bermuda, London and international markets, working for global organisations such as Chubb, AIG, Lloyd’s of London. Tangy is a frequent speaker on corporate board governance, diversity and inclusion, leadership and technological implications for the financial services sector.
She served as a mentor for Techstars Barclay, London; a member of the Alumni Advisory Board at Tennessee State University, Nashville, TN; Trustee Ethnic Minority Foundation, London; Advisory Board of Strategia Worldwide, Ltd., London; Council of Democrats Abroad UK, London; St James’s Roundtable, Chatham House, Royal Institute of International Affairs, London; University Women’s Club, London and the Black Cultural Archives, London.
Tangy was recognised as a Distinguished Alumni of Boston University 2018 and Distinguished Alumni of the College of Business at Tennessee State University’s 2018 Spotlight Magazine. She recently won the WinTrade Award in the Women on Boards category and a Finalist of the Black British Business Awards for Financial Services both in 2018.
She holds a BBA degree from Tennessee State University and a MSc degree in Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management from Boston University. Tangy hold dual citizenship status with the US and UK.

Timothy Yeates
Actively involved in helping to redefine the role of insurance in risk management, given the challenges facing our industry from digital transformation, globalisation and the need for new approaches to tackling the daunting protection gaps around the world.
Proud to be an ambassador and part of the IICF team, the only organisation working across our whole market to promote diversity and unity of purpose in reminding the communities we serve that we are solely dedicated to their protection and wellbeing.
Tim has enjoyed a varied and international career with leading organisations, seeing up close the impact of different risk management roles (insurance broking, risk financing, captive management, strategic risk consulting for developing countries, global information services and training) on economies, businesses and people’s lives.
As a member of the Grants’ Committee, Tim has the privilege of meeting the wonderful people who receive IICF support to carry out their vital work day-in day-out.
